Nightlife in Broadstairs Kent

Broadstairs has nightlife to suit all ages, ranging from lively seaside bars with music or traditional bars with live music.

World class Broadstairs restaurants combine with continental style bars, live music, fetes, fairs, superb firework displays and carnivals to make a visitors stay enjoyable for 24 hours a day! As the sun sets across the Kent Coast, there are plenty of activities to choose from.

If you’d like to catch the latest Blockbuster movie, Broadstairs has two cinemas one traditional small cinema called the Palace and a large multiscreen Vue in the Westwood Shopping area.

If you’d prefer to party the night away you’l be spoilt for choice in Broadstairs! With a wide range of Broadstairs pubs and Broadstairs bars to suit all tastes, you’ll have plenty to choose from.

The cosmopolitan atmosphere on Broadstairs lower part of the town towards the harbour is the hub of Broadstairs nightlife activity where you’ll find continental pavement cafes, wine & cocktail bars and traditional Broadstairs bars.

This fantastic little bar is a popular haunt of the local people. Many favouring its fantastic selection of cocktails, wines and lager on tap. On a Thursday evening you will be able to enjoy live music between 8.30pm till 11pm.


The Pavilion, was originaly built in 1933 as a Theatre on the sands, it fell into disrepair, and was bought by the local Council, who couldn’t staunch the money pit. Eventually taken over by Thorley Taverns, who cleaned it up, created a fantastic garden and patio. It is regularly used as a music and dance venue, and has pleasant views across Viking Bay.

The Dolphin Inn Broadstairs, is Thanets No.1 night spot. DJ’s playing 3 times a week. Open till 1am Sun – Thurs and 1.30am fri and sat. Happy Hours on Thurs (8pm/9pm), Fri, and Sat 7pm – 9pm. Always very competitive drinks promotions. The Dolphin is reckoed to be the oldest Pub in Broadstairs, dating from the 1600’s.


One of the largest pubs in Broadstairs, with the main bar downstairs and a restaurant/meeting room/bar upstairs. Excellent views around Viking Bay too. The building is around 200 years old and was famous around the late 1800’s as a high class entertainment venue. This continued until the outbreak of the first world war when it became Anderson’s Café. It has been a Pub since the 1960’s.
